My remix of Daft Punk's Unreleased Song, Drive

So most of you have heard/heard of Daft Punk's newly rediscovered song, a demo tape from 1994 simply labeled "Daft Drive". Some background, T guess: the head of Soma records (the record label that released Daft Punk's first EPs) managed to find this tape last year, which had been submitted with Rollin' and Scratchin' and had gotten lost and forgotten basically after Daft Punk did Da Funk.

To be honest, I wasn't that impressed with it. Sure, it was just a demo, a rough draft basically, without any mastering or development of the musical ideas that Daft Punk is known for, but still, it seems more like a prototype for what eventually became Rollin' and Scratchin', a much better song.

So, I decided to remix it into something that, personally, I think is better. Let me know what you think.

Oh, and heads up, yes, this is "dubstep", but not what most people think of dubstep ("Skrillex"-style electro-dubstep with all the WUBs and WOBBLES and terrible grinding noises); this is more in the style of old-school UK dubstep/garage.

Excellent use of the vocals, they worked very well! I'm big on that breakbeat-heavy, downtempo garage sound.
(It also sounds like you used a sample from something else... do you want to keep that a secret?)

Very nice to see the older and original dubstep style. I do know that it had its origins in the 90's over in Europe.

Also good remix! I really liked the filter work you did.

It's much better than modern dubstep! The bass isn't as prominent but it gives the song atmosphere I love how you've managed to keep a "90s" feel to it and I'm glad I wasn't the only one that wasn't too impressed by drive xD
