Im currently in the looks for a new artist name!!

Im getting tired of jamestylerfitzgerald for these reasons

1. its sounds like im conceited and want my name on everything...even though its not even my name...

2. it just sounds boring...


i was thinking either

"Sky Sector" / "Sky Sector 8"

or

"Clarion B"


"sky sector" sounds cool but a lil bit weird and

"clarion b" also sounds cool but it sounds like a makeup brand

please help me decide!!

Sky Sector 8 sounds very generic and kind of sci-fi in a boring way. Clarion B is pretty cool, but maybe people will think of Clarion Hotels or Clarion car audio systems.

I think you should do a version of the old name.

It sounds to me like you're trying too hard to find a good artist name. I found that one of my earliest choices was actually the best after a year and a half of going through about 15 different names. Here's my advice, you could either:

a) pick a name you like and build on it until it becomes something that you're completely happy with

b) choose a name that sounds completely natural to you, and write down any that you've thought of but discarded because you might actually find that you like it later on.

I went through many changes of band names until I picked mine (Goodbye Narwhal). Just think of some things like this:

* Try a band name generator.
* Anything that pops into your head can go.
* You CAN use a name that has already been used if there's already like 13 bands with that name. (think of Justice).

Those are just some examples. See what you can come up with.

Personally, with a name as cool as James Tyler Fitzgerald I'd be fine with putting my name on everything. There's plenty of producers with distinctive names that represent their music far better than any pseudonym (think Dave Clarke or Carl Craig).
