Moderator Problem I have. READ THE DESCRIPTION

Just to make this clear. THIS IS NOT A RANT. I'm just telling a story and hoping someone, hopfully a moderator, will help me get through a situation i'm having. I also didn't know where to put his thread, so i put in the site because it has something to do with mods. Which is part of the fourm. And this fourm is a site. So yea.

Ok, so there's this problem i have. I just plain hate moderators. Its probably because i grew-up in different fourms and mods would always ban people doing the simplist mistake. Say, someone posted a thread on the lounge, put its suppose to be on the your music section. Mods don't care about warnings, they want EVERYTHING perfect. They also think everything is aganist the rules. I was playing GTA SA. (Don't laugh) and whatever someone is accused of hacks. It's a ban right away. Even if the mod didn't see the person hack in the first place. Probably because of lag or some glitch that every mod won't take chances when it comes to hacking. This also happeneds in every online game i play. Its annoying, why can't people learn to have trust? And at this age that im in, i take things WAY to seriously. Even though sometimes it meant to be a joke.

Then it comes down to this site. I have been to ALOT of fourms, and online playing that now i think that every moderator should be hated upon. (Because of what they do.) This site has the nicest admins and modertors i have ever seen. But, i can't except that. Take piroteki, for example. Very nice, and super funny. Everyone loves him/her. But where I come from, mods are feared too much. So i'm not getting used to this whole thing. Which is sad, for me.

I need to feel that moderators are our friend. Some one help me? Thank you.... You can even delete this thread if it is a problem to you. This might even be the last time i go the site.

stop holding the stigma, and then you will be fine.

i really don't understand why people fear us on forums. we're just got a few little priveliges and sifting though spambots and reluctantly dealing with people fighting and being idiots sometimes makes the job pretty average.

getting banned isn't the end of the world, really. you can always talk about things in another place, or play a different game server.

Just look at the Daft Punk official website thread and how much the mods put up with, because they enjoy the weirdness and jokes and far fetched theories just as much as anyone else. We are all here for the same reason, even the mods. To have fun and discuss Daft Punk.

Contrary to popular belief, we aren't all that bad! Mods don't really have much authourity other than, like spam said, stopping fights, dealing with spambots and such.

We aren't mega nazis or whatevs, we're here to look after the forum the way you guys want us to. We aren't really above the average user.


EDIT: I have a question: what kind of forums did you stick to when you were growing up? Seems like the mods there want everyone to have a bad time.

moderators suck. they're the lowest scum on earth. i don't know why anyone could ever like them because they shouldn't even be considered human beings. they can go die in a hole.




no, but in all seriousness. mods and admins are pretty much just average users. we started out that way. i was a regular member for two years before i got offered the mod position and i didn't even want it at first. but i decided to take it because i really loved TDC. and i wanted to make sure that everyone else who used this forum felt the same way.

i always tell people that i feel like i have a responsibility to make the site the best that it can possibly be so that everyone else will love it as much as i do. but that's a big job. it means the site has to be organized, easy to follow, fun, clean, and full of nice people to establish a positive atmosphere. when someone posts in the wrong section or doesn't know how to use the site, that's not a big deal. if someone has an issue, we try to fix the problem as quickly and efficiently as we can while still being polite and helpful. but if someone is purposely spamming or causing fights or doing something within the forum that jeopardizes our efforts, then we're going to have to take larger actions. i never like banning people or giving people infractions. but i don't like to see the rest of the forum's members unhappy even more. i, and im sure many other mods, actually do put a lot of trust into TDC's users. that's one reason why i never try to do anything too drastic unless the situation calls for it.

sometimes our job is very frustrating. people can be stubborn, insensitive, and extremely annoying. we've had fights break out, we've had prolonged spam attacks, we've had people attack us for our actions, and we've had a lot of relentless trolls. that's when we can get very fed up with whoever is doing that, and we might not make the best decisions and act upon them when we shouldn't have. but that doesn't mean we're like that with everyone or every situation like that.

i'm sorry you've had bad experiences with moderators and admins. everyone is different and you'll find different people on every forum, so try not to let your experiences shape your judgements wherever you go. if something they do on a certain site really bothers you, send them a PM. let them know in a calm, non provoking way that you're unhappy and ask them if you can talk about possible changes that can be made. like i said, unpaid moderators are volunteers, so chances are they just want to make sure their forum and its members are doing as best as they can.

just remember that if you or anyone else on here wants something done, has a question, or even a complaint, you shouldn't hesitate to send me or any of the others mods and admins a PM. it's true that we don't look at every single thread or even every section of the forum on a daily basis, so if we miss something, bring it to our attention and we'll do something about it.

I get banned/kicked a lot at battlefield 3 for some reason lol. I'm naturally not a big fan of mods either, but at TDC it's like a parent-child relation. We love () each other and the mods look after us. Although if we get too 'childish' the mods will correct us. All fine if you ask me

omg. how stupid i am. This place feels like home. T-T reading these makes me cry. T-T im so touched by this. You guys listen, its like have having the parents i could ever ask. Thank you.


and answering m3311 quetion, i hanged out around the game fourms, gta servers, and some werid ones i forgot.

Im also sorry to dafthuman fo the rant i made. It was during the anger problem i had on a daft club fourm No hard feelings. I even deleted the post. You can delete yours too and pretend nothing ever happened.



And this is the last post im making....ever.......on this site. I might comeback. but today with, the daft club pilot thread mess and the rant about daft human. I made a mess i could never clean up.
