    I need ideas...

    I'm working on this drawing on Photoshop that could possibly be turned in as my final project for my Visual Design class, but I've been having problems using it in the context of what the final project needs to be. We need to create something using Photoshop that demonstrates our knowledge of the program and shows that we know how to design something aesthetic and appealing.

    We have the option of creating a DVD sleeve for anything really (movie, video game, TV series, live performance, etc.). We could also create mock magazine covers and stuff like that, but I have no clue what to do using this image. The reason I want to use this image is because I think it would get me a good grade - but only if I find a good way to use it. I was thinking about creating like... an animated TV series or movie featuring DP, but I'm not sure.

    Here's the half-(assed)finished drawing of GuyMan, I'm still working on Thomas (just have the line art vector of him at the mo&#039. I don't know how I could incorporate my drawing style into something for the final. I think it might be too "draw-y" but, it shows I know how to use Photoshop and Illustrator.

    Hmm.

    How about using the drawing as the cover of a sleeve for the Alive 2007 DVD or a magazine cover about the tour? Or maybe a DP-themed video game like godiecool mentioned before? I dunno....

    Nice drawing by the way (without the coloring).

    Yeah, I'm at a total loss right now. I think I'm just going to scratch the entire idea of using it and it'll stay as a side-project. Le sigh, oh well!

    Man, I need to fix the crap out of this... I need motivation!

    i don't think you should scrap it! i like it a lot, really.

    i think the problem is more that the assignment is so broad. i would suggest thinking about the different assignments you did in the class and seeing how it matched up to the different techniques and concepts you've covered. obviously it's going to fit in with some, but you can include others in the other parts of it, like the background and lettering (if you decide to include that) and stuff...

    using it as part of a hypothetical ALIVE 2007 cover doesn't seem like that bad of an idea... (though it is DISCOVERY era... what about taking the vector drawing and using that to do the encore suits?)

    I already did a mock CD for Alive 2007, which had a vector drawing of their encore suits as the cover... so a mock DVD might be a little recycled. Hehe, maybe I should do a cartoon TV series and make it have a super cheesy concept, kind of like the animated Zelda cartoons or Super Mario Brothers.

    If you're thinking of doing a cartoon series with a cheesy concept, then yeah the Mario and Zelda cartoons and the CD-I game clips are very good inspirational material (*Nostalgia* I'm a 6-year-old again XD ), they are like the cheesiest you will ever come across. I also highly recommend doing "research" by viewing clips of the cartoons and games on Youtube, I'll post 3 videos as a head-start and hopefully you can pick something up from there.

    There you go, hope they help. And if you need a more comedy-feel to it, check out Youtube Poops (gag videos), which are basically edited videos using various clips (the ones posted above included) and randomizing the hell outta them, some are even more hillarious than prime time TV (seriously!), just type Youtube Poop on the search bar and viola, a ton of material that can act as inspiration, I've made some myself (the "Daft Punk Visits Hyrule" video is mine if you didn't know). Sorry for the long post. ^^;

    Good luck!
