Still working on gathering electronics...I dont think I'm going to do the face screen on Guy because that is well over my head (ThreeFN thanks for the link, thats just way to complex for me at this time) so I'm sticking with the lights down the sides for Thomas and Guy. Plus I have a multi color LED belt buckle I'm going to use for the center of Thomas.
The Goal:

this is all I want to do for now with the lighting

23rd Nov 2009, 20:44 #3175Ok go to Pepakura
I recommend downloading:
-The newest Designer v.3.0.7 something like that.
-The Pepakura Viewer
-And Designer V2.1.7
Now go to 405th.com Click original view.
On pages 1,4,& 5 you'll see different helmet layouts the Guy layouts on page 4 are the best but you need V2.1.7 to print and the Thomas layouts on page 1 you need V3.0.7
ROBOT(and anyone else looking) I hope this helps...

23rd Nov 2009, 21:24 #3176Hey all, I've been reading through this mammoth thread for the last few weeks and I started making a Thomas helmet about a week ago.
I thought I'd share what I've done so far, I've had a slightly different approach. I used the Luchofunk template to get the basic shape, but instead of a baseball helmet I'm using a toy power rangers helmet. The Luchofunk template fit right onto it with very little alteration. Since there's a plastic structure underneath all the cardboard pieces I think it may end up being a little more durable than the baseball helmet design. The downside is that the overall shape of the helmet isn't quite as round as it ought to be, so it won't the most accurate reproduction. Also, the helmet is a bit small and makes for a snug fit.
Here's what I have so far:

I make it a point to be as forthcoming and earnest in all of my business transactions, and don't take affronts to that lightly. All I have is my reputation, and the last thing I need is a little side comment like that making it seem like I'm out to scam people.
If there's something you'd like to elaborate upon, please do so.
