I assume you are aware that auto paints come in cans not aerosol so you need HVLP or an airbrush to apply it. The paint stores will sometimes pre-mix some catalyzed clear for you in one of their custom aerosol cans (if they are setup for that) but then you need to use it within a few hours.

This is not mine nor am I affiliated with it, but I found it to be quite an interesting read. Lots of pictures and video of 3D rendering, 3D printing, PCB board design, and vac-forming. Enjoy. http://uiproductions.blogspot.com/20...of-helmet.html

Keep in mind, it isn't perfect, but considering the amount of work they did in such little time is pretty astounding.

Astounding indeed. Their chrome paint kinda sucks though. You'd think with the resources to do everything else so well in so little time that they would put in a little more effort than using a can from their friends trunk. Killer chrome sucks and they should have read up on it to find that out beforehand. :/ Oh well. It's still very much an astounding helmet.

Yes that part also puzzled me. I suppose the point was to get the helmet done as quickly as possible. He is working on modifying it tron style, there is preview pic on his blog.

Shouldn't be hard as they left out the circuit print, LEDs, and RCA plugs that aren't in the Tron version.

First off: Code fail. Secondly: I copied the link out that code and I'm impressed. It's not perfect, but I know how hard it is in Solidworks to get organic shapes and make things without proper measurements.
