Daft Punk's First Releases (Query)

Their first track :
darlin'_darlin 2
First daft punk release under the name darlin' (duophonic-1992).
phoenix_city lights
First recording on their own label (ghettoblaster-1997).

13th Feb 2008, 03:58 #3Darlin' is the band Thomas, Guy~Man and Laurent Brancowitz started when they were all younger. (it's also the source of the "Daft Punk" name, but that information's fairly easily available elsewhere...)
long story short, Thomas & Guy~Man decide they like house parties, and Laurent goes off to form Phoenix (which is the other band you cited).
so technically, neither are Daft Punk, but they do have connections to the duo.
