Indeed it is, like to pronounce someone sily or stupid. example, "What do you think you are doing you daft idiot" or similar.

Yeah its definitely British. We use it alot in Scotland. I hardly ever hear Americans, Ozzies, or Canadians say it.

i was flippin' through the channels on tv one day and as i passed this one channel i heard'em say "Daft" so i really quickly flipped back to that channel and it was American Idol. so i got really excited thinkin' that someone was gonna try and sing one of their songs or something like that so i just kept watchin' until i realized that they were calling that persons performance daft and not talking about Daft Punk
    i was pretty bummed....

Yeah. It means "Crazy" or "Stupid" over in Britain. It was, in fact, a British music critic that called Darlin' "A Bunch of Daft Punk".
That brings me to my random DP moment.
My dad is a big fan of Golf, and he gets a British golf magazine, aptly titled "Golf Magazine". So, for reasons unexplained, someone in the magazine called a certain brand of five-iron "Daft", and my dad, knowing me, pointed it out like it was really important.

Also, I get Time Magazine every week, and my dad flipped through it before me. He said they had something DP-related in there. Of course, I perked up, and he told me the page number. So, I went there, and it was a picture from the Westminster dog show. My dad shouted "Da Funk!" and burst out laughing while I felt crushed and disappointed.

There is a piece at the art museum of a big, red neon light that is bent into the shape of a triangle. I geeked and was like, "OH OH! I have to take a picture of this! Daft Punk in my museum, eff yah!"

I have yet to flash the 'mid at anyone...

Me and my friend (also DP fan) were watching HP and the Order of Phoenix in local cinema. And in the movie there's a sign that says "DUMBLEDORE: DAFT OR DANGEROUS?" - whenwe saw this, we were both like "OMG! OMG! OMG!", screaming in the cinema. Probably everybody thought were crazy :P

I covered myself in tin-foil and pretended to be Thomas.
Then rollled on the carpet to try and conduct static electricity so I could go back in time and meet DP.

    It didn't work..
