thanks.biggest problem is finding a suitable translucent material........
also was going to have the top seperate from the base and mounted on a single post and fixed at the bottom to a weighted stand like the ones used to hold up the giant umbrellas at the pub

translucent, is different from transparent. lol.

you wouldn't want something as clear as cellophane. i'd say you'd probably be cool with something as simple as like bed sheets or something, but maybe oiled butcher paper would be good, too.

yeh maybe.i think grease proof paper would be a bit too delicate but a bed sheet kept tight might work..hmmn

covered the top corner in a white card to see what it would be like...turned out better than expected.might keep it like that and start the base in same card.i put a small lamp behind it to see what it would be like with a strobe and i think it will be ok.
    here are the pics..

    yep, looks good to me.

i was just suggesting the oiled paper if you wanted to graduate to actually projected images (a la HAA/Superheroes/Rock n Roll or the encore), i'm not sure how crisp images would come out with just regular paper. or, cardstock, since i'm under the impression that is what you're using...

though in all honesty, i wouldn't know if oiled paper would be better, that's just based on mental conjecture. lol

no im not going to project onto it as it would be too expensive and complicated to link up enought projectors so that the correct image is shwon on all 4 sides.
