Yesterday, the Daft Punk YouTube channel published what appears to be the music video for their newest single, “Lose Yourself To Dance”, the first track to get a music video from Random Access Memories.
A fragment of the music video was shown during the MTV Music Video Awards 2013, just before Daft Punk made an appearance themselves, presenting the Best Female Video award. In a small interview with MTV News, Nile Rodgers revealed that the arrangement to make the video was ‘simple’. “[…] Doing the video was nothing. It was my pleasure and honor to do it.”
Posters advertising the single were also visible on New York City, days before the music video was published.
The video shows the quartet playing on a circular stage -inside of an alleged spaceship – surrounded by a cheerful crowd, dancing along to the beat. Thomas, playing a synthesizer; Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, playing the bass; Nile Rodgers, playing the electric guitar; and Pharrell Williams, singing. All four are seen on gold and silver-colored sequins provided by Saint-Laurent.
