    ABBA

I figured I'd make a thread about them, because no matter how you look at it, they are legendary in their own way, regardless of today's views. I don't think an introduction/description is necessary, but here's the wiki article just in case, and yeah, I'm very fond of their music, thanks to my parents.

    And now, the (classic) songs:

The song that started it all, it won the 1974 "Eurovision Song Competition", and it was all uphill from there.

People have described this as the perfect pop song, and I agree, my favorite song of theirs, it's also the one that makes me feel the most nostalgic.

Here's an interesting fact, Ace Of Base, a Swedish dance band from the 90's, eclipsed the success that ABBA accomplished.

Also, here's where to discuss anything regarding solo projects, Frida went on to produce a number of solo albums after the band split up, one of her most famous albums is the 1981 international self-titled album "Frida", produced by Phil Collins, the most successful single out of it was the song "There's Something Going On".

Bomfunk MC's produced a cover of the song in 2000, AKA "Crack It".

I really like most of Abba's songs, but my personal favourite has to be The Winner Takes It the lyrics in that song are superb .

    Re: ABBA

I've listened to pretty much all of their songs, and I have to admit I think Take a Chance is their best. I especially like the video, I think Anni-Frid looks her best during that period.

    Re: ABBA

"Take a Chance" is great. I hate how some relate the song exclusively to Erasure because they covered it.

It's interesting to note the success and longevity of ABBA to Ace of Base's. It's like they complement one another on the era scale.
