Do you mean that sound you can also hear in this video at 01:02?

I am also curious what that sound is. I think it's an distorted sound from a drumcomputer or a synth or something. Maybe somebody else have better info.

Are you talking about a live version of Da Funk, or the studio version (the one on Homework).

If it is the studio version, then TDC member churro had "found" the intro sample to be from an episode of a 90s Batman TV show. But it was probably just a public domain sample.

No no no, i mean that little bastard can be heard through the whole song, intro city noise was taken from warner bros sound libraries obviously.

    Just what Berrie said.

I'm pretty sure that wasn't a sample; just them messing around on their synthesizers.

Ah, that sound. My guess is that it's a "hit" sound. Most electric keyboards have them in their sound banks.

Maybe it's the "hit" sound from the Roland Juno-106. Which they used alot in their music.

Isn't that part of the live/early version of 'Revolution 909'?

Nah; it never had anything to do with Revolution 909. It was a live improv that the recorder of the Rex Club bootleg called Revolution 909 because he was unfamiliar with their work and assumed that all the songs they played had been released. But I'm pretty sure they didn't use the synths from Da Funk in most versions.
