I didn't make the sample, I downloaded it from somewhere a while back when I was trying to look for it too.

This actually isn't the original sample I downloaded though, I actually couldn't find it. I had put the original in an app called "Looptastic Producer" for my iPod, which lets you create sample-based mixes. I made a sort of live, sampled mix of "Da Funk" with it, so I could control the drum sample, 808 sample, and horn sample.

But I just recorded over the horn sample I loaded into it, since there's no way of exporting the sample itself out again.

If you use the one I've uploaded with any sort of loop software, it may sound a bit off-time. I tried using it with Ableton last night along side some of Da Funk to see if it would sound okay, but it didn't sound too great. It might just be Ableton itself, Idk.

But edit it to your liking, and make it work how you want!

    Re: Da Funk horn sample?

To me, the Da Funk 'horn' (organ) sounds very similar to the organ in High Life and Short circuit
    anyone else agree?

Yeah I can agree a little with that Aguy. The organ sound just being a lot more high pitched I guess.

That's simply not the case. You can clearly hear a loud crashing sound (subway doors opening?) in the intro to Da Funk that's not present in this song. I'm pretty sure it's just a stock sample similar to the crowd noises in Revolution 909.
    Rest sounds about right though.

Well if you're talking about the noise of the city street at the start of Da Funk, that's just a stock audio noise. It's in The Social Network at 42 minutes.

The horn sample is located in the intro of Da Funk. It's actually a car horn. :/

    Re: Da Funk horn sample?

The Da Funk horn sample comes from an actual song. I was on a cruise years ago and I heard it playing. I thought it was Da Funk, but we were all eating dinner in the dinner room as music played as we ate. I just have no clue what song it was, but I assure you all it's 100% a sample and it's been killing me for years not knowing the source! It's a direct loop.
