    Re: Daft Punk Crash Helmet?

got a couple of tins of paint today.
Put a few layers of gold on.

    Few layers of lacquer.

Bit of tidying up with a marker pen.

That will have to do for tonight as i need it for work tomorrow. If i have time this week i'll paint the cables on the back and do the ears and maybe get a tinted visor.

This is gonna look pretty sick. I was about to suggest you paint/pinstripe the cables on before I got to the end of ur post but I see you're already on top of that.

yeh that's the plan..need to pick up some more paint in the next few days but in the mean time, here's a super high definition graphics mock up (and in no way just doodled on microsoft paint) of what it will look like once ive changed/tinted the visor, painted the cables on and oainted on the ears.

    Re: Daft Punk Crash Helmet?

If you get a tinted visor, wouldn't you have to respray the gold paint as it appears to currently overlap on part of the visor?

No the visor itself was left unpainted, the bit that was painted is the part of the helmet that the visor clips into.

Few people know this but i actually animated the first toy story film using microsoft paint.

    Re: Daft Punk Crash Helmet?

Ah. It looked like the Visor and the painted portion were the same piece, like on most. If you can actually swap out just the clear plastic part, that's pretty handy.
