So is there a way to get #perf French house bass on ABL2, then?

Re: Burnin'/Mothership Reconnection/Voyager Phat Bass. How?!

Guys, I've finally succeeded. I've recreated the Alavi bass, perfectly (it's even closer than what this guy has done).

It's simpler than what I would have imagined. All you need is the TAL-Bassline VST with the Soft Bass preset and ONE Ableton Auto-Filter (Phaser is optional). I can't believe it.

(I put the original bass at the end for comparison)

ARGHHH! I know exactly what the trick is now, but you figured it out before I did!

You have to emphasize the frequencies found right before the cutoff!

search for good vst emulation "Tal - Bassline" and use preset "Soft Bass". Just add some resonance for filter

I have the tal101 but I can't find the preset called soft bass? Can you upload it for me please?

    many thanks if you can.

Sorry to revive a thread outta nowhere but I found this bootleg that Todd Terry did using most of ATW's parts he got from his remix in '97 and their basslines are totally the product of a TB-303.

Re: Burnin'/Mothership Reconnection/Voyager Phat Bass. How?!

Even more sorry to revive an old thread and a double post, but I was asking around for stuff and I got to talking with Rico (Eric Chédeville) and he revealed that all these basslines were in fact coming from the MiniMoog Model D!

Le Knight Club's Santa Claus / Holiday On Ice was composed of these things according to Rico:

    Bass—MiniMoog Model D
    Kick—TR-909
    All Other Percussion—SP-1200
Reversed Violin Sample (Holiday On Ice)—Roland S760 (Probably)
Synth Lead—Juno 106 (Same patch as the one used in ATW, also written by Guy)
    Effects—Ensoniq DP4+
    Mixed On— Mackie MS1202

Fun fact, this was actually the week they composed Holiday On Ice in '97. Starting earlier in the week and ending at the end of the week (now).

Funnier Fact: He helped produce I Feel It Coming.

Re: Burnin'/Mothership Reconnection/Voyager Phat Bass. How?!

I did this before (on page 1 back in 2012) but here's an improved version.

Here are my recreations of four basslines: Burnin', Mothership Reconnection, Around The World and Voyager.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/z0ryla1frc...lines.mp3?dl=0

They are all TB303 (saw wave only, ABL3 emulation) with only EQ and compression applied. I think they came very very close, so I think it's possible that they were originally made with a 303. The drums aren't recreations, just a basic 909 beat.
