The video was not what I had pictured the song/lyrics conveying, but it was not in the least bit disappointing to me. I am also a sucker for story lines about inanimate objects experiencing human emotions, particularly on a tragic level.
Agreed. I am a real sucker for emotional feeling objects aswell, mostly because there are rarely stories of them.

I just noticed that the Instant Crush video has 25 million views on YouTube! That's pretty good. I remember when it seemed to be stalling about 12 million views and that didn't seem that long ago. Did this video just have a very recent boost?

I think the video is awesome, by the way. I played it like 8 times straight when it first came out.

Instant Crush is by far one of the most moving music videos I've ever seen in my life. Legit made me a hot teary mess T__T

The filmography and editing really added the 'human' touch to it imo, I love recalling one of the scenes where it almost looked like the Soldier mannequin leant sideways to peer shyly at the female mannequin :3
On a not-so film-related note, I love what Daft Punk does with the instrumental in the chorus after the 'kinda counted on you being a friend' line; the sound diffuses and sounds like stars and sparkles ~
And Julian is just gorgeous, even in mannequin form

Couldn't agree anymore. The song and the music video are just masterpieces.

The lyrics really are meaningful, something that songs today always lack. It tells the story of being in love during youth and the troubles of it, and it really speaks to me.

And gosh, when the first lines come in, I get chills down my spine. The vocals from the (good lookin') Julian are just so clear and crisp, and really has a lot of emotion put into it to get the feeling of the song across. And when that chorus hits, it hits hard. Really packs a lot of punch into the song.
