This song from 2004 sounds quite a bit like Fragments of Time.

I found a song earlier with an intro that sounds very similar to FoT's intro.

Here's the song, and here's FoT for comparison.

I don't think it's a sample, but I could definitely see Daft Punk being inspired by this song.

    Watcha think?

Also if you've never heard of Reggie Watts you should check out his newer stuff. He's basically a superhuman comedian/rapper/beatboxer/singer.

Excuse me, but in my opinion If we compare this song with FoT, i would say it is only 9%, is more than a simple coincidence that an inspiration.
I really did not know this artist, I see that he is very talented, and I will listen carefully.

damn that does sound very similar.. and not just because it uses the same instrument (lap steel guitar) the notes and even tempo are almost identical. even more eery is around 3:35 the breakdown with the guitar riff reminds me a bit of instant crush intro. could all be coincidence but with their track record it wouldn't surprise me if it was an interpolation.. if it's the case hope the guy gets compensated in some way.. regardless good catch The Wumbo Man!

Get Lucky's guitar riff is also pretty much a sped up version of the riff on Jackson's "The Girl is Mine."

It wrangled my brain for months and was so relieved when I finally connected the buried dots lol.
