    That would make sense because it was recorded straight from the equipment but being that that live show was in '97 and isn't on vinyl I don't think so :/

    You'll be surprised. There are bootleg live recordings that have actually made it to vinyl (ex: here), so it wouldn't be impossible that the original recorder of the Rex Club show might have tried to sell it on the format for extra value. Of course it never popped up, so who knows.
