Nearly every song the robots have produced sound nothing like Daft Punk either. Just playing devil's advocate.

And I mean if it's a three way collab between Cashmere Cat, The Weeknd, and the robots, then it certainly wasn't "secret." Cashmere and Weeknd both have posted Daft Punk pictures on social media in the same couple of weeks as well as posting pictures of themselves together working on something. The preview could've been released due to the traction of the confirmation that Abęl was in the studio with Thomas and Guy.

Plus some more food for thought. Cashmere said a new single from his album was dropping Friday. And the music preview post has the same cat emoji that Weeknd posted before when talking about Cashmere. It could be just that or it could be all connected. Who knows? It's exciting to think about. That may have been brand new music from Daft Punk.

I was talking with someone today about popular musicians producing other bands' work. In some cases, I don't mind when the musician's sound influences the band's output. Sometimes it can turn out well. But in other cases, I feel nervous when a musician is producing a band's work in fear that it would turn out too much like the producing musician's other work.

For example, I heard a song today by a band I like called The Growlers from their new album that was produced by Julian Casablancas. I love The Strokes and The Growlers but it sounded to me like a new Strokes track with the Growlers frontman singing over it. Not that big of a deal, I don't mind The Strokes' new poppier sound but it doesn't fit The Growlers' surfy vibe.

To get back on topic, I like how DP doesn't try to use their signature sounds when producing others' tracks. Like on Yeezus, none of the songs they had a hand in producing sound like them. I admire that.

I agree with you very much. At the same time though, I don't think anyone would object to a Weeknd song that sounds like Daft Punk feat. The Weeknd. haha

Edit: signed up to Apple Music to hear the full version, it's alright.. Maybe just me? I feel like it just doesn't have that Daft Punk feel to it..

the beat vaguely reminds me of Hypnotize U. I'm diggin this track, not in love with it, but it's nice. i'm hoping for more tracks with the robots on the album
