Firefox Version 52 Confirms Username/Password Susceptibility To Theft
11th Mar 2017, 19:00 #1So, I updated my Firefox to version 52, and I noticed this:
Read about it here: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Prote...fox/ta-p/27861
Here's quotes on the most interesting statements I found:
''You can also continue to log in to the website even if the connection is insecure, but do so at your own risk. If you do go this route, try to use a unique password or a password that you don’t also use for other important sites.''
''Pages that don’t transmit any private information can have an unencrypted connection (HTTP). It is not advised to enter private information, such as passwords, on a web page that shows HTTP in the address bar. The information you enter can be stolen over this insecure connection.''
At the end of the article, there's a link for web developers to learn more about this, and how to fix it.
I don't think it's that big of a deal, given that nothing major's happened since this version of the site went up. But I'd suggest not using a password that's also utilized on another personal account of any given individual.
