I believe Daft Punk are truly inspired by everything... ever.

I am honestly coming to believe the Robots sit in the studio all day finding random samples, words or phrases from older songs or songs from their formative years and make songs out of them. It all could be coincidences and I may just be a crazy DP fan... who knows... But I have heard things in old songs that remind of Daft Punk before but I never wrote them down. However, my two most recent finds are:
    ________________________________________________

Level 42 (British Band) - "Something About You" (1985)

I've never heard this before except for today on the radio when I was instantly hit with Daft Punk feels when the lyrics said:

    Now, how can it be
That a love carved out of caring
Fashioned by fate could suffer so hard
From the games played once too often
But making mistakes is a part of life's imperfection
    Born of the years
Is it so wrong to be human after all?
    ...
If ever our love was concealed
No one can say that we didn't feel
A million things and a perfect dream of life (gone) fragile but free
    We remain tender together
    If not so in love
And it's not so wrong; we're only human after all...

Also, the title/song "Something About Us" could have been inspired by the title "Something About You".
    ________________________________________________

    Loverboy's Album - "Get Lucky" (1981)

Has a few singles that the Robots must have heard back then and the obvious title of "Get Lucky"...

Interesting tidbits on their inspirations there. News to me. Thanks.

However, their musical direction(s) being heavily fueled by their own influences ain't a secret. From the beginning, you just take a listen to "Teachers".

But teachers only told of Daft Punk's early influences. You think guys like DJ Hyperactive and Paris Mitchel directly influenced Get Lucky?

I believe Pharrell made it clear how the instrumental was of the track was lyricless, until he improvised them during his "tamporine" begging session, and the duo liked them.

I'm not convinced on the "Get Lucky" lyrics bit, just saying everything they've done is partially via inspiration. They've never hid that fact.

Hey guys, you know how I mentioned they might have been inspired by LOVERBOY albums?

Well check this screenshot out from Interstella 5555... I jumped when I saw this

However, I believe this could actually be a reference to the song "Loverboy" by Billy Ocean, not Hillbilly Crystal or they really like LOVERBOY, Billy Ocean and Billy Crystal
