Possibly critical site issue
25th May 2017, 13:39 #1
I just logged in here for the first time in a month or two and as I clicked log in, a new tab opened and this appeared - the type of stuff you typically see on dodgy download websites and such.
Are these pop ups intentional? - Is it possible TDC's security has been compromised? A lack of https security has been notable for a few years. Are my credentials and payment infos I use for membership safe?

Re: Possibly critical site issue
25th May 2017, 13:58 #2I have just read the other thread regarding pop ups and a response from Spud stating the hack had been disabled, however this is still happening. I just tried on my old laptop too, and got 2 pop up windows, one with porn.
If there is any uncertainty about the safety of user data, especially payment info (mine is still active), this site should be taken offline until the threat is neutralised properly.

25th May 2017, 19:51 #3I was getting porn popups too. I also use Mac. I don't seem to get them anymore though.
Spud responding is the real eyebrow-raiser here.

Re: Possibly critical site issue
28th May 2017, 02:53 #7If you enable various ad blocking plugins you can disable the pop ups from appearing - However it does not mean the site is not infected and agencies aren't tracking you + taking our login and payment info. It is distressing this has gone unfixed for months, as well as the fact I still have had no contact from Spud regarding member payments I have sent him which have gone unratified.
At this point, do we need to lodge a complaint with 123-REG LIMITED (the hosting service for this domain) regarding malpractice by the site administrator? I and a few other users have expressed worry about our payment info's safety in the facebook group.

Re: Possibly critical site issue
29th May 2017, 20:55 #8I'm a Windows user and I haven't been experiencing any problems either (popups etc.)
However, what I have just been noticing by looking at the main forum page, before logging in, is that there appears to be some fake profile creation activity taking place:
These profiles which I believe are fake seem to be with a username that's 10 alpha characters long (Conn6orSuper117 is definitely real!).
So, yeah, there's something going on.
Edit: Oh look, we have more new members!
