Re: Arcade Fire - "Everything Now" (prod. by Thomas Bangalter)
15th Jul 2017, 04:35 #31That's a fair comparison. But, to me, I just don't see it. IC had vocoder effects that complemented the instrumental, whilst her singing is just too high pitched to be taken in doses that aren't backing vocals. I can't even tell what she's saying.
I really would love to know what lead to the band having her on said track in its entirety (no PR BS). I'll just assume it was a case of the band insisting it happen, and Thomas being satisfied with the instrumental.
I can't be the only one with the thought of her vocals being too high pitched. Then again, some people would say I'm not allowed to be critical of a track being produced by an individual I respect. Oh well.

16th Jul 2017, 01:40 #32You're not the only one who thinks her vocals are too high pitched but I'm not the only one that thinks it works for the song. You can be critical, but you're kind of assuming the exact position of how Thomas thought. Thomas was probably fine with the vocal performance even if he thought it wasn't perfect (Pharrell isn't the most solid of vocal falsetto's either dude). It works well in my opinion even if it sounds like she had to have effects to mask her strain. You're looking too far into this.
I think "Electric Blue" is by far the most Daft Punk-esque sounding song we've gotten so far from this album. It was even partially recorded in Daft Punk's studio in France.Last edited by Baconboy; 16th Jul 2017 at 01:52.

23rd Jul 2017, 06:22 #33The album has leaked. I will update with full production credits when I get them. The album's not the best though. Standouts include: Everything Now, Electric Blue, Put Your Money on Me, We Don't Deserve Love.

28th Jul 2017, 20:33 #38It's out now! I'll give it a listen later.
Here are some credits:

So it seems like Thomas worked on all the songs? He is also credited for "programming" on Put Your Money On Me and synthesizer on Everything Now. And it seems like the flute part on Everything Now is not a direct sample of Francis Bebey - The Coffee Cola Song but actually a replayed sample by his son Patrick Bebey. Cool.

I'm very interested in what you guys think of this album. I don't think I've ever felt more divided over an album.

29th Jul 2017, 02:58 #40Thomas is only credited on Genius as producing 4 tracks. Here's how Genius has it listed:
1. Everything_Now (continued) (produced by Arcade Fire)
2. Everything Now (prod. by T. Bangalter, S. Mackey, Arcade Fire)
Synthesizer by Thomas Bangalter3. Signs of Life (prod. by Arcade Fire, S. Mackey, T. Bangalter)
4. Creature Comfort (prod. by Arcade Fire, G. Barrow, S. Mackey)
Synthesizer by Geoff Barrow5. Peter Pan (prod. by S. Mackey, M. Dravs, Arcade Fire)
6. Chemistry (prod. by Arcade Fire, M. Dravs)
7. Infinite Content (prod. by Arcade Fire)
8. Infinite_Content (prod. by Arcade Fire)
9. Electric Blue (prod. by M. Dravs, T. Bangalter, S. Mackey, Arcade Fire)
10. Good God Damn (prod. by S. Mackey, Arcade Fire)
11. Put Your Money On Me (prod. by E. Heigle, S. Mackey, Arcade Fire, T. Bangalter)
Programming by Thomas Bangalter12. We Don't Deserve Love (prod. by Arcade Fire)
13. Everything Now (continued) (prod. by Arcade Fire)
This makes sense to me due to him playing music on two of them as well as the fact that he didn't produce Creature Comfort. Looks like he's just credited as a main producer for the album. Steve Mackey didn't produce several tracks either.
